The auto experts at Kelley Blue Book's kbb.com recently chose the 2012 Hyundai Elantra one of the "10 Best Green Cars for 2012." This is the Elantra's second consecutive year to make the list, which editors use to introduce a large variety of fuel-efficient vehicles.

Hyundai Tours the U.S. with 14th Hope on Wheels Campaign

For the fourteenth year in a row, South Korean auto manufacturer Hyundai is launching its non-profit Hope on Wheels organization for a tour across the country to award grants totaling more than $3 million to 85 hospitals to aid in the fight against pediatric cancer. Would you rather live your life in a dull manner, or do you yearn to live brilliantly? South Korean auto manufacturer Hyundai is focused on drivers that prefer the latter option with its new worldwide "Live Brilliant" brand campaign. The goal of this campaign is to become the world's most beloved car company- not the largest. The campaign is part of the brand's new direction, "Modern Premium," which has a slogan of "New Thinking. New Possibilities." This direction was launched last year, but the new ad campaign will help it to realize its full potential.

Hyundai i-oniq Concept Flows Through Geneva Auto Show

All-electric vehicles are certainly impressive, but it will take time for technology and society to catch up with all of these vehicles and their corresponding technologies (such as charging stations, for example). For now, it seems the best option is to build vehicles that rely predominately on battery power, but that also use range-extending, gasoline-powered generators to back them up. This is the approach Hyundai has taken with its new Hyundai i-oniq concept, which recently premiered at the Geneva Auto Show. This concept blends a 1.0-liter three-cylinder, generator-like engine with a 107 horsepower electric motor.

The new Elantra is fuel efficient (see our green leaf rating) and has a very reasonable starting price under $20k for the base model. We have to admit, though, we're very excited about two new variants (coupe and hatchback models) that will be added to the Elantra's lineup for the 2013 model year.

Hyundai Tackles Super Bowl Advertising with an Amazing Five Spots

Have you heard the expression, "Go Big. . . Or Go Home!"? Well, that's exactly what Japanese automaker Hyundai did this year with its Super Bowl ads. Hyundai had an amazing five advertisement spots this year. (Other automakers and manufacturers were satisfied with one or two 30-second spots). Of the advertisements, two were positioned during the pre-game celebrations, one was placed pre-kick, and two were aired during the game. Each witty commercial featured a distinct and unique message.

That's one reason why there are so many automotive awards given; they make it easier to sort through the pack. There is quite a bit of thought that goes into calculating the resale price of a vehicle, and no one knows it better than the brilliant minds at Kelley Blue Book. Each year, they release the "Best Resale Value Awards," which aim at giving drivers a good look what models are retaining their value and which ones aren't. These values are important, as the consumers are looking to get more and more out of…
