Hyundai Tours the U.S. with 14th Hope on Wheels Campaign

For the fourteenth year in a row, South Korean auto manufacturer Hyundai is launching its non-profit Hope on Wheels organization for a tour across the country to award grants totaling more than $3 million to 85 hospitals to aid in the fight against pediatric cancer. By the end of 2012, Hyundai expects to exceed $57 in total donations for the project, including over $10 million to support childhood cancer research at the Children's Hospital of Orange County (CA).

John Krafcik, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor America, explains the importance of the project, stating, "We see Hope On Wheels as a critical part of our mission at Hyundai. Pediatric cancer takes far too many young lives and impacts far too many families. We are proud to work with our Hyundai dealers to fund research to end this disease.  We congratulate each institution receiving our grants and commend them for the important work they are doing."1 Each of the 85 hospital grants will be presented during a special Hope on Wheels Handprint Ceremony, where diagnosed children will have the opportunity to place colorful handprints on a 2012 Hyundai Tucson- the official vehicle of the Hope on Wheels program.
