Hyundai Increases Its Offerings with New Elantra Variants

Here at Lujack Hyundai, located at 3700 N Harrison Street Davenport, IA 52806, we think of the 2012 Hyundai Elantra as one of our favorite vehicles in this year's Hyundai lineup. The new Elantra is fuel efficient (see our green leaf rating) and has a very reasonable starting price under $20k for the base model. We have to admit, though, we're very excited about two new variants (coupe and hatchback models) that will be added to the Elantra's lineup for the 2013 model year.

Hyundai showcased the two new variants at the 2012 Auto Show earlier this month. The hatchback model will be a five-door labeled GT and will arrive this summer in the United States, while the two-door coupe is expected to go on sale much sooner. Prices and sales goals have not yet been announced, but you can expect these figures soon. Both of the vehicles are targeted at buyers who desire fantastic handling and a sportier ride. Mike O'Brien, U.S. Vice President of Product Planning for Hyundai describes the GT, which is based on Hyundai's European i30, stating it's ". . .the latest example of how Hyundai is redefining the compact car and setting new standards in automotive design, efficiency and functionality."1

Last year, Hyundai Elantra sales increased 41 percent in 2011 compared to 2010 numbers. The Elantra was named "North American Car of the Year" at the 2012 North American Auto Show in January, as well.

To learn more about the new Elantra variants, stay tuned here with Lujack Hyundai. We'll keep you updated as the new vehicles arrive and keep you posted about all things Hyundai. In the meantime, feel free to check out this year's "Car of the Year!"
