Hyundai Earns Number One Spot for Ownership Economy

Auto brand Hyundai is often recognized as a stellar company in the U.S., but its vehicles are impressing drivers across the globe as well. Hyundai Motor Company Australia has received more segment awards than any other auto manufacturer in the NRMA 2012 Vehicle Operating Costs Survey. Four Hyundai models placed first in their respective categories.

NRMA Motoring and Services Research Engineer David Carr explains, "This year sees the calculator packed with operational costs for an unprecedented 1500+ vehicles, making it the most comprehensive survey of its type. Hyundai vehicles rated well in the 2012 survey," while Nick Aravanis, Director of Aftersales for Hyundai Motor Company Australia adds, "These results see nine Hyundai models achieve top three places of their respective categories across the four motor club surveys. The results once again prove Hyundai's expertise in producing vehicles which offer outstandingly low operating costs, supported by affordable maintenance schedules Australia's first 5 year unlimited km warranty."1

The results were calculated using a "Whole-Of-Life" cost model, which measures vehicles using a strict set of guidelines. The vehicles must be purchased new and operated for five years, with an annual average distance of 15,000 km driven.
