Hyundai Elantra Chosen by as One of the '10 Best Green Cars for 2012'

The auto experts at Kelley Blue Book's recently chose the 2012 Hyundai Elantra one of the "10 Best Green Cars for 2012." This is the Elantra's second consecutive year to make the list, which editors use to introduce a large variety of fuel-efficient vehicles.

Director of Product Planning for Hyundai Motor America, Scott Marason, explains the stylish sedan's appeal, stating, "With its 29 mpg city and 40 mpg highway standard fuel economy rating, Elantra is a perfect vehicle for consumers looking for an affordable solution to rising gas prices. Elantra is one of the vehicles at the core of Hyundai's fuel economy strategy. In the first quarter of 2012, 39 percent of all Hyundai vehicles sold achieved 40 mpg on the highway thanks in large part to Elantra's continued success."1 The 2012 Elantra was also named the North American Car of the Year this year, one of the highest honors available in the auto world.  It features an ActiveECO System that smooths out throttle response by modifying transmission and engine control and bumps up fuel-economy up to seven percent. It also received praise from for its value, standard amenities, and high level of comfort.
